Abigail Riutta, DC, is a Gouverneur native, practicing right in her hometown. Dr. Riutta discovered chiropractic care after suffering from a low-back injury while playing basketball in middle school. Her experience with chiropractic care changed her life, and she now focuses on providing personalized, evidence-informed care to the members of her community.  

She attended SUNY Cortland, where she earned a Bachelor’s in Biology and then proceeded to earn her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Northeast College of Health Sciences, graduating with honors. Dr. Riutta is a board-certified chiropractor and is licensed to practice in New York State. 

Dr. Riutta enjoys working with patients of all ages and activity levels. She is committed to the health and well-being of all her patients and strives to provide each patient with an understanding of their pain,  education on their condition, and the tools for self-management.

Sarah was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where she attended college and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. After marrying her high school sweetheart, they moved to Northern New York after her husband was stationed at Fort Drum. Sarah and her husband fell in love with the area and decided to reside in Gouverneur, where they raised their five children, Dr. Riutta being the eldest. 

Sarah is an active member of the Gouverneur Community. She has dedicated the past 10 years to developing the Gouverneur Girls Basketball program, coaching 4-8th grade. When Sarah is not coaching her kids in sports, she is taking them all over the North Country for other various sports and activities such as swimming, soccer, softball, musicals, band, orchestra, etc. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time at the lake, reading, hiking and running.
